We've been notified that Mrs. Rose Cayouette and Mrs. Liliane Guenette are both celebrating their 100th birthday in 2021. Happy birthday! Discover more about them by clicking on the article below.

Rose Cayouette

Date of Birth: August 11, 1921

Place of Birth: St. Pierre De Wakefield, QC

Resident of Kapuskasing Since: 1928

Rose Cayouette was a house wife and worked at the old Sensenbrenner Hospital. Those close to her know her as Aunt Rose. She has volunteered with many organizations including Camp Ongrandi, North wood and churches).

 

Mrs. Cayouette came to Kapuskasing by train. The first things she remembers seeing was a police station and gas station. Her favourite hobbies include knitting and volunteering. She also enjoyed being a babysitter for many families.

 

Rose Cayouette has 2 children: late Raymond Dufour and Colombe Gordon, 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 2 great great grand children. She knows a lot of history and is a great storyteller. You can sit with her for hours and she will never get tired of it.

Liliane Guénette

Date of Birth: July 4, 1921

Place of Birth: Kapuskasing

Resident of Kapuskasing Since: 1921

Liliane Guénette is a mother of four and was a secretary at the Guénette store. She is a founder of Les Filles d'Isabelle. She describes her best memories in Kapuskasing come from spending time with her family. Mrs Guénette's favourite hobby is making canned food with vegetables from the family garden.

Mrs. Guénette is the mother of two boys and two girls : Marcel Guénette, Jean-Claude Guénette, Françoise Trudel and Denise Rodrigue. She shared with us that she has travelled a lot with her husband Maurice, including trips with the family, friends and with other couples. They have seen the entire country.
